Add the chopped onions, drizzle idli podi. Drizzle oil and cook in low medium flame. Once the bottom starts browning at the edges(corners) flip over to other side. Uttapam gets cooked with onions and other vegetables getting.

Instructions to make Onion uttapam:
  1. First of all wash rice and urad dal and soak for 4 to 5 hours with fenugreek seeds.
  2. Now make fine paste of rice and urad dal and fenugreek seeds in mixture. And put aside for 7 to 8 hours in hot area.
  3. Now mix salt as per taste in batter. And heat a tawa on medium flame and Grease tawa with some oil.
  4. Now pour batter on tawa with the help of big spoon or cup, now add onion and green chillies over it. cover it and cook for 4 minutes.
  5. Cook from both side nicely. Your simple and easy uttapam is ready to serve.
  6. Serve with tomato sauce and green chillies sauce. Or you can serve with coconut chutney or garlic chutney.
