  1. Prepare 1 cup rice,
  2. Prepare 1/4cup Chana dal
  3. Take 1/2cup Moong dal
  4. Make ready 1/2cup Urad dal
  5. Take 1 tsp Fenugreek seeds
  6. Make ready 1/4cup Beaten rice
  7. Make ready 1/4 cup tuvar dal,
  8. Make ready 1/4 cup tamarind paste
  9. Prepare 2tbsp sambar masala
  10. Take Sambar- 1/2cup cooked tuvar dal, veggies of your choice ( drumst
  11. Get 1 cup Drumsticks, pumpkin,ivy gourd, cauliflower, french beans)
  12. Take 1 onion, tomato each ,
  13. Make ready Turmeric, chilli p, salt, curry leaves, whole dry chillies 2,
  14. Make ready 2 tbsp oil
  15. Prepare Chutney- coconut, garlic, green chilli, coriander leaves, cumin

Instructions to make Appe with sambar-chutney:
  1. Soak rice &all Dal's for 5-6 hrs
  2. Before grinding add poha soaked for 10 min & fenugreek seeds & grind to a fine paste.keep aside for 7-8 hrs to ferment.
  3. Now grind coconut, green chilli, garlic, cumin seeds,2 tbsp Dalia dal(used in chi wada) coriander leaves & salt.
  4. Now for tempering… Heat oil, add mustard seeds& cumin, 1 split dry red chilli & few curry leaves.pour this over chutney.
  5. Now in 1tbsp oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds,1 chopped onion, 2-3 chopped green chilli, few curry leaves & saute for a min.Add 1tbsp ginger- garlic paste stir & add in appe mixture.Add salt.mix.Now heat appe pan smear with oil and pour table spoon of mixture, cover and cook.
  6. When done from one side, turn and cook on other side also.
  7. In this way cook all appe.
  8. Sambar.- steam chopped veggies in micro for 2 min.
  9. In saucepan heat oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, broken 2 dry red chilli, curry leaves, chopped garlic & onions,fry till translucent,then green chilli & tomatoes cook, add turmeric, red chilli p, sambar masala & madhe tuvar dal, tamarind paste,salt and water to make thin.after 5 min add veggies,& cook for 5min. Harish with coriander leaves and serve hot with appe.
