Steps to make Sev usal:
  1. Soak white peas in water for 6-7 hours. Cook in pressure cooker along with cubed potato, salt, sodabicarb and enough water.
  2. Grind onion and garlic in mixer grinder and make paste. Grind tomatoes in mixer grinder and make puree.
  3. In a pan heat oil. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. When crackles add asafoetida. Add onion garlic paste and saute until oil seperates. Add tomato puree and saute until oil seperates.
  4. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, dhania jeera powder and sev usal masala or bhaji pav masala. Mix well. Add boiled peas and mix well. Add required water and adjust salt. Cover with lid and simmer for 5-7 minutes. Ragada is ready.
  5. For tari, in a pan heat oil. Add crushed garlic cloves and saute for sometimes. Add tomato puree and saute until oil seperates. Add salt, red chili powder and dhania jeera powder. Mix well. Add approximate 1/4 cup water and cook for couple of minutes. Tari is ready.
  6. At the time of serving pour hot ragda into plate. Apply chopped onion, chopped coriander leaves and Sev. Apply tari on top according to your taste how spicy you like! Enjoy with pav or bread.
