To get started with this recipe, we have to first prepare a few ingredients. You can have mash flour halwa (maisoo) using 9 ingredients and 10 steps. Here is how you can achieve that.

The ingredients needed to make MASH FLOUR HALWA (MAISOO):
  1. Make ready 500 gms… Mash flour
  2. Take 500 gms sugar
  3. Make ready 500 gms….Ghee
  4. Prepare 125 gms edible gum (goond)
  5. Prepare 50 gms…almonds
  6. Prepare 50 gms….pistachios
  7. Make ready 50 gms…. Cashews
  8. Get 50 gms…..coconut flakes
  9. Prepare 50 gms….walnuts

Simple atta halwa made with whole wheat flour, ghee and sugar. This quintessential Indian dessert was a favorite growing up! Atte ke halwa is another name for wheat halwa. Praise the wheat halwa recipe, because it has only three main ingredients.

Instructions to make MASH FLOUR HALWA (MAISOO):
    1. Grind sugar in grinder till powder form or you can use store bought powdered sugar. Roughly chop almonds, pistachios, cashews and walnuts. Keep aside
    1. Take a broad pan, add half of the ghee in it. When heat up add edible gum in it. Add in two batches. Roast till double in size and golden brown in colour. Take them out and roughly crush with the back of the spoon. Keep aside.
    1. In same pan add remaining ghee when melt add mash flour into it.
    1. Now stir continuously on low to medium heat. Don't leave it unattended.
    1. Slowly and gradually it will change colour white to light brown as shown in the picture.
    1. Now it's time to remove from the heat. Turn off the flame and firstly add sugar in it and mix well.
    1. Add fried edible gum. Save some for top garnish. Mix well.
    1. Now add coconut, almonds, pistachios, cashews and walnut in it and mix very so everything gets well cooperated.
    1. Pour this mixture on greased tray. Garnish with remaining dry friuts and fried goond.
    1. Let it cool for 6 to 8 hours then slightly warm the knife and cut in your desired pieces. You can keep them in an airtight jar up to a month.

These are wheat flour, ghee and jaggery (or sugar). A wide variety of mash for flour options are available to you, such as material, certification. After trying the Kasi halwa and Karachi halwa i thought i will try Godumai halwa I tried the halwa with wheat flour and it turned out pretty awesome. But home made is always best right.
