Sambar is a traditional South Indian stew that goes well with idli, dosa, steamed rice or can be served as a soup. Any South Indian meal, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, would be considered incomplete without Sambhar or one of its variants. Steps to make Sambar:
  1. Cut all the vegetables into medium size.
  2. Clean the Tuvar dal. Add the Tuvar dal and all the vegetables in a pressure cooker
  3. Cook it up-to 5 whistles
  4. After the cooker releases the pressure. Give a tadka. Heat oil add mustard seed, fenugreek seeds, curry leaves
  5. Add 1 cup of water. Add the masala, red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, sambar powder and salt.
  6. Let it boil until it gives a nice aroma from the sambhar.Now finally garnish with coriander leaves. Sambar is ready
