  1. Prepare 1 cup Tur Daal
  2. Prepare 1/2 cup chana daal
  3. Prepare 1 medium Onions, chopped

  7. Take 1/4 tbsp haldi / turmeric powder

  12. Prepare 2 tbsp Coriander leaves

  14. Make ready 1/2 tbsp -tbsp cumin seeds
  15. Prepare 2 cloves garlic chopped
  16. Make ready 2 dry chill broken in to pieces
  17. Make ready 1 pinch Hing
  18. Take 1 tbsp Oil+Ghee

A simple, yet flavorful Instant Pot Dal Tadka or Yellow Lentil soup along with pot-in-pot basmati rice. Dal tadka is very quick to prepare and can be ready in minutes. Tadka Daal is mild and easy to cook so will be loved by family members of all ages. Add the curry leaves and green chilies and cook till spluttering stops.

Instructions to make Daal Tadka Curry:
  1. Rinse tur daal, chana daal in water and add them into pressure cooker. Add 2-cup water and salt and pressure cook for 4-whistles
  2. Heat 2-tbsp ghee, oil in a pan. Add chopped onions and saute until it turns light brown add ginger garlic paste. Saute 3-4 minutes
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and saute until it turns soft
  4. Add haldi powder and red chilli powder
  5. Add cooked dal and mix well
  6. Add 1-cup water and stir to mix add salt to taste
  7. Cook on medium flame until you get the desired consistency of daal
  8. Remove it from flame and transfer into a large bowl
  9. Prepare the tempering by heating 1–tbsp oil. Ghee ina small pan add cumin seeds, chopped garlic, dry red chilli and hing mix well and allow garlic to turn light brown
  10. Remove pan from flame and pour prepared tempering over cooked daal in a serving bowl.
  11. Garnishing with chopped Coriander and serve with jeera rice.
